Two good things about this tea room. The location and the Tudor style House. The rest you can forget.
We ended up in here because we got caught up in a heavy rain shower.
The Wife of Shakespeare would have turned around in her grave if she would have seen this place.
When you enter the bakery looks acceptable but as soon as you are greeted by a fourteen year old girl near the stairs you know that something is not quite right.
After waiting for a long time somebody came to take our order. The waitress did not know what the soup of the day nor what their speciality was (rarebit). The poor girl did not have a clue.
We ordered:
a cup of tea,
a pepsi,
a quiche with chips and salad
and a daily soup (leek)
price: £12.50.- ($23.-)
The price of £3.30 for a tiny cup sized bowl of soup was just horrific.
We could not believe what the served us next. A piece of quiche which smelled burned. It was clearly the sort of quiche you buy in a multi pack at a supermarket. (We got served one tiny piece if it).
After we left, my girlfriend got a stomach ache from the food.
All in all a very messy and cunning place. One review is saying its been a family business since 1971. God knows how they survived. Its certainly not being managed in the right way. Its an expensive tourist trap and should be avoided.

notsoyummy food verdict: you are better off eating a quiche from Tesco (2 for £3.-)
notsoyummy social verdict: borderline slave labour (the girls are to young to work here)
notsoyummy verdict: 8/10
AVOID THIS PLACE!
